1. A method of detecting corrosion on surfaces of an object, the method comprising
immersing the object into an electrolyte,
detecting by electrochemical techniques the presence of corrosion on the surfaces of the object based on current originating from redox reaction of iron, wherein the step of detecting comprises using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) or cyclic voltammetry (CV) scan and using an Ag or an AgCl reference electrode in the LSV or CV scan as the third electrode, and wherein the potential window for the LCV or CV scan is between −0.35V and 0.35V vs Ag/AgCl reference.
