1. A straddle type vehicle comprising:
a front cowl configured to cover a front part of the straddle type vehicle;
a shield which is a separate member from the front cowl and is arranged above the front cowl; and
an image capturing sensor configured to detect a situation in front of the straddle type vehicle,
wherein the image capturing sensor unit is positioned above a lower end of the front cowl and in a central portion of the straddle type vehicle in a vehicle width direction,
the image capturing sensor is arranged behind an upper portion of the front cowl, and
a lower edge of the shield includes a recess that recesses upward so that the shield does not interfere with an image capturing range of the image capturing sensor.
