23 Claims

1. An aromatics alkylation catalyst composition for aromatics alkylation consisting of a zeolite and a mesoporous binder, said mesoporous binder is a mesoporous metal oxide which has a median particle size d₅₀of greater than or equal to 20 μm and a pore volume of less than 1 cc/g, said mesoporous metal oxide has an alumina content of greater than or equal to 75%, by weight, said mesoporous metal oxide comprises amorphous silica-alumina, said zeolite has a framework structure that includes one or more of BEA* and MWW, and wherein said catalyst composition has a surface area of less than or equal to 300 m²/g as measured by ASTM D4284.
