1. A cardiac monitoring and treatment system for providing remote alerts, the system comprising:
a wearable defibrillator configured to detect a cardiac arrhythmia in a patient and deliver a therapeutic shock to the patient to treat the cardiac arrhythmia, wherein the wearable defibrillator includes:
a control unit configured to provide a first alert to the patient before delivering the therapeutic shock, and
a battery configured to provide power for the therapeutic shock; and
a remote alarm device for providing a second alert to the patient, the remote alarm device comprising:
a communication interface configured to receive a communication from the wearable defibrillator relating to the cardiac arrhythmia,
a user interface configured to provide the second alert to the patient before delivering the therapeutic shock, and to further receive user input provided in response to the second alert, wherein the second alert is a visual, tactile and/or aural alert, and
at least one processor configured to respond to the communication by controlling the user interface to generate the second alert.
