1. A device for pre-display of a spot pattern to be applied for a laser treatment of an eye, comprising:
a laser system and a scanning system that together generate a target beam;
wherein the spot pattern is predefined and includes a pattern of predefined spots at which laser energy is to be applied to accomplish the laser treatment of the eye;
wherein the laser system and the scanning system that together generate the target beam are formed to generate one or more continuous lines of light which simultaneously appear to overlie all spots of the spot pattern of a planned laser treatment thus pre-displaying the spot pattern;
wherein the laser system and the scanning system are configured to generate a treatment beam to apply treatment laser energy to the predefined spots.
