1. A charger integrated circuit (IC) comprising:
a bidirectional switching converter including
a plurality of switching elements including a first switching element, a second switching element, a third switching element, and a fourth switching element which are connected in series to a first input/output node,
an inductor connected between a first end of the third switching element and a second input/output node, and
a capacitor connected to a second end of the second switching element and a third end of the third switching element; and
a controller configured to generate
a first pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and a second PWM signal based on a plurality of sensing signals received from the bidirectional switching converter,
a first switching signal controlling switching operations of the first switching element and the fourth switching element based on the first PWM signal, and
a second switching signal controlling switching operations of the second switching element and the third switching element based on the second PWM signal in a buck-boost mode in response to an average value of an inductor current flowing through the inductor being positive, and
the first switching signal based on the second PWM signal in response to the average value of the inductor current being negative and the second switching signal based on the first PWM signal in response to the average value of the inductor current being negative.
