1. A battery having:
a housing having at least two cells and a cell wall provided between the two cells;
a plurality of elements provided within the cells;
a common headspace defined by the cell wall; and
a battery strap having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, a first side edge, and a second side edge opposite the first side edge, the first and second respective side edges extending a length of the battery strap, and the second surface of the battery strap cast onto two of the elements and directly connecting two of the elements in series through the cell wall, wherein the battery strap is configured to taper along the first and second respective side edges, and wherein a thickness of the battery strap is uniform throughout the length of the battery strap.
