1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving, by a computer system, a media file captured with a user device; and
in response to the receiving the captured media file:
determining, by the computer system from metadata associated with the captured media file, initial timestamp information for the captured media file by parsing, utilizing a timestamp field detection model run on a computing device, the metadata to determine one or more timestamp field entries for the captured media file;
determining, by the computer system in response to determining that the initial timestamp information determined for the captured media file includes inaccurate or incomplete time zone information, a predicted time zone for the captured media file by:
identifying, by the computer system in response to determining that Global Positioning System (GPS) information for the captured media file is not available within the metadata associated with the captured media file, a peer media file; and
utilizing a time zone or GPS information of the peer media file to determine the predicted time zone for the captured media file; and
generating, by the computer system, a synchronized timestamp for the captured media file with updated timestamp information based on the predicted time zone by modifying the one or more timestamp field entries for the captured media file according to a predetermined timestamp format.
