1. An appliance implementing an issue reporting function, comprising:
a controller including a hardware processor and a memory, configured to
responsive to a first press of a control button of the appliance indicating user activation of a report feature indicating that an issue is being experienced by the appliance, capture appliance signals and state information into data records;
receive a second press of the control button indicating that the issue is no longer occurring;
responsive to deactivation of the report feature, discontinue the capture of the appliance signals and the state information;
augment the data records captured after the first press of the control button and before the second press of the control button with an issue occurrence status indicating that the issue is occurring;
augment the data records captured after the second press of the control button with an issue occurrence status indicating that the issue is no longer occurring; and
send the data records to a remote device for analysis.
