1. A medication delivery system, comprising:
an infusion pump;
a non-transitory memory storing instructions; and
one or more processors coupled with the non-transitory memory and configured to execute the instructions to cause the medication delivery system to:
receive an indication that an infusion module became physically coupled, via a connector, to the medication delivery system;
operate the medication delivery system as a control module for the infusion module when the infusion module is coupled to the medication delivery system via the connector;
receive, when and based on the infusion module becoming physically coupled to the medication delivery system, clinical information pertaining to a medication delivery facilitated by the infusion module and received by the infusion module when the infusion module was physically coupled to a different medication delivery system before the infusion module became physically coupled to the medication delivery system, and delivery data obtained by the infusion module after the infusion module was physically decoupled from the different medication delivery system and before the infusion module became physically coupled to the medication delivery system; and
facilitate operation of the infusion module to continue the medication delivery based on the clinical information and the delivery data.
