1. A method of manufacturing a tibial implant comprising the steps of:
operating a laser to melt metallic material to form an integral structure including:
a porous baseplate portion;
a keel; and
a plurality of pegs, each peg having a porous peg outer surface adjacent to the baseplate, a solid peg outer surface and free end tapering to a point, the pegs including a first pair of pegs spaced apart a first distance and a second pair of pegs spaced apart a second distance, the first distance being different from the second distance.
