1. A medical instrument comprising:
a memory configured to store machine executable instructions and a predetermined logic module; and
a processor configured to control the medical instrument, wherein execution of the machine executable instructions causes the processor to:
receive a set of joint location coordinates for a subject reposing on a subject support-; wherein the set of joint location coordinates comprises coordinates for: a left hip joint, a right hip joint, a right shoulder joint, and a left shoulder joint;
receive a body orientation in response to inputting the set of joint location coordinates into a predetermined logic module, wherein the body orientation is head first or feet first relative to a chosen coordinate system;
calculate a torso aspect ratio from the location of the left hip joint, the right hip joint, the right shoulder joint, and the left shoulder joint;
wherein if the torso aspect ratio is greater than a predetermined threshold then assign a body pose of the subject as being a decubitus pose;
wherein if the torso aspect ratio is less than or equal to the predetermined threshold receive a determination if the subject is face up or face down on the subject support in response to inputting the set of joint location coordinates into the predetermined logic model, wherein face up and face down are an orientation of a torso of the subject, wherein if the subject is face up a back of the subject rests on the subject support, wherein if the subject is face down a chest of the subject rests on the subject support;
assign the body pose as being a supine pose if the subject is face up on the subject support;
assign the body pose as being a prone pose if the subject is face down on the subject support; and
generate a subject pose label comprising at least the body orientation and the body pose.
