1. A forceps comprising:
a gripping assembly configured to have an open position and a closed position, the gripping assembly including:
a first jaw, including:
a first gripping portion having a width and length;
a longitudinal axis extending from a proximal portion of the gripping assembly and through a distal end portion of the gripping assembly; and
at least one first tooth extending away from a first planar surface of the first gripping portion, the at least one first tooth having a first proximally facing tooth surface and a first distally facing tooth surface;
wherein the first proximally facing tooth surface and the first distally facing tooth surface extend from the first planar surface and unite at a position remote from the first planar surface defining a first tooth peak;
wherein the first tooth peak includes an apex, the apex is oriented obliquely across the width of the first gripping portion relative to the longitudinal axis; and
a second jaw including:
a second gripping portion having a width and length, the second gripping portion facing the first gripping portion; and
at least one second tooth extending away from a second planar surface of the second gripping portion, the at least one second tooth having a second proximally facing tooth surface and a second distally facing tooth surface;
wherein the second proximally facing tooth surface and the second distally facing tooth surface extend from the second planar surface and unite at a position remote from the second planar surface defining a second tooth peak;
wherein the second tooth peak includes an apex, the apex is oriented obliquely across the width of the second gripping portion relative to the longitudinal axis.
