1. A personal protection system, the system comprising:
a helmet shaped to be worn over a head of a wearer;
a garment for being disposed over the helmet;
the helmet comprising:
a shell;
a fan disposed within the shell of the helmet and configured to draw air into the shell of the helmet;
a chin bar coupled to the shell and that is located below the shell, the chin bar configured to hold the garment away from the face of the wearer;
a controller electrically connected to the fan; and
a sensor for outputting a sensor signal;
the controller configured to control a speed of the fan based on the sensor signal.
