1. A computer implemented method for message sender identification of a connected element of a road traffic network, the method comprising:
receiving, at a processing component of a vehicle, from one or more connected elements of the road traffic network, one or more messages, the one or more messages comprising position information for the one or more connected elements;
generating, by the processing component, a message-based hyper-graph based on the one or more received messages;
determining, by a sensor of the vehicle, perceived position information for one or more elements of the road traffic network;
generating, by the processing component, a perception-based hyper-graph based on the perceived position information;
comparing, the message-based hyper-graph to the perception-based hyper-graph; and
determining the sender of one of the received messages based on the comparison.
