1. A method comprising:
receiving, by a cloud-based system, a command from an interface, wherein the command is in a standard protocol;
converting, by the cloud-based system, the command from the standard protocol into a plurality of different protocols, comprising at least a first protocol of a first access control device, and a second protocol of a second access control device, wherein the first protocol is different from the second protocol, and wherein at least one of the first protocol or the second protocol utilizes commands having a plurality of separate communication steps, and wherein the converting further comprises converting the plurality of separate communication steps into fewer steps within the standard protocol; and
communicating, by the cloud-based system, the command to the first access control device in the first protocol of the first access control device, and to the second access control device in the second protocol of the second access control device.
