1. A method comprising:
at a first electronic device having a processor and a sensor:
obtaining a sequence of images of a physical environment via the sensor, the physical environment comprising a time-varying visual marker that includes a sequence of codes sequentially produced by a second electronic device at a second frame rate, wherein the sequence of images is obtained at a first frame rate;
identifying a frame rate discrepancy between the first frame rate and the second frame rate based on content of images of the sequence of image; and
adjusting an image-capture parameter of the sensor based on the frame rate discrepancy.
