1. A glass comprising:
40 to less than 62 mol % SiO2;
17.5 to 28 mol % Al2O3;
1 to 14 mol % P2O5; and
at least one alkali metal oxide (R2O), wherein R2O is selected from the group consisting of Na2O and K2O, wherein 0.75≤[(P2O5 (mol %)+R2O (mol %))/M2O3 (mol %)]≤1.3, where M2O3=Al2O3+B2O3 and the glass is lithium-free.
