1. A printing apparatus comprising:
a printhead including a plurality of nozzles configured to discharge ink to a print medium;
a platen configured to support the print medium and including a platen patch which is provided at a position facing the printhead;
a first detection unit configured to detect a distance between the printhead and the platen by detecting the platen patch;
an acquisition unit configured to acquire information concerning a difference between a first distance between the platen and an upstream nozzle area on an upstream side of the printhead in a conveyance direction of the print medium and a second distance between the platen and a downstream nozzle area on a downstream side of the printhead in the conveyance direction,
a control unit configured to cause the printing apparatus to perform a predetermined operation based on a detection result of the first detection unit and the information acquired by the acquisition unit.
