1. An air freshening device comprising: a water-based fragrance emitter including water, a water absorbing partially cross-linked hydrophilic copolymer selected from the group consisting of partially saponified (meth)acrylic acid, alkyl acrylates, hydroxyl alkyl acrylates and mixtures thereof, and a fragrance composition, the fragrance composition having from about 3% to about 70% by weight of at least one fragrance ingredient exhibiting a standard equilibrium headspace concentration (HS_i⁰) below about 100 μg/L, from greater than 0% to about 50% by weight of at least one fragrance ingredient exhibiting a standard equilibrium headspace concentration (HS_i⁰) greater than about 1000 μg/L, or from 30% to about 97% by weight of at least one fragrance ingredient exhibiting a standard equilibrium headspace concentration (HS_i⁰) about 100 μg/L to about 1000 μg/L.
