1. A system for endoscopic visualization of a scene, the system comprising:
an emitter that emits a plurality of pulses of electromagnetic radiation according to a pulse cycle, wherein the plurality of pulses comprises:
a plurality of strobing pulses; and
a fluorescence excitation pulse comprising electromagnetic radiation within a waveband from about 775 nm to about 815 nm;
an image sensor comprising a pixel array that accumulates electromagnetic radiation and reads out a plurality of exposure frames according to a sensor cycle that comprises a plurality of readout periods and a plurality of blanking periods; and
a controller in electronic communication with the emitter and the image sensor that synchronizes timing of the pulse cycle and the sensor cycle, wherein the controller comprises one or more processors configured to execute instructions comprising:
determining a vibration frequency of a vocal cord of a user;
calculating a strobing frequency based on the vibration frequency;
instructing the emitter to emit the plurality of strobing pulses at the strobing frequency;
identifying, based on synchronization of the pulse cycle and the sensor cycle, at least one strobing pulse that will be emitted during an identified readout period of the image sensor; and
causing the image sensor to suspend pixel readout when the at least one strobing pulse is emitted during the identified readout period.
