1. A speaker device comprising:
a first frame element disposed a first side of the speaker device and a second frame element positioned on a second, opposite side of the speaker device;
a first membrane disposed between the first frame element and the second frame element, the first membrane operably coupled to the first frame element;
a first variable-volume cavity between the first frame element and the first membrane;
a first drive unit configured to drive the first membrane inward and outward along an excursion axis relative to the first frame element;
a second membrane disposed between the first frame element and the second frame element, the second membrane facing the first membrane and operably coupled to the second frame element;
a second variable-volume cavity between the second frame element and the second membrane;
a second drive unit configured to drive the second membrane inward and outward along the excursion axis relative to the second frame element; and
a connection element fluidically coupling the first variable-volume cavity and the second variable-volume cavity.
