a) place a first call to a server, wherein:
i) the first call is placed to a second telephone number associated with the first device, and wherein the first call comprises an audio call; and
ii) the first call is transmitted over a publicly switched telephone network to the server;
b) transmit data to the server via a different channel than the first call, wherein the data directs the server to associate a predetermined caller identification with a second call to the second device, wherein the predetermined caller identification differs from the first caller identification;
c) initiate the second call via the server; and
d) merge the first call and the second call via the server.
