1. A method for emulating a reactive source impedance for a generator, the generator coupled to a first controller, a second controller, and a load, the method comprising:
adjusting an output of the generator with the first controller, wherein, in response to adjustment of the output, a first value calculated with respect to a weighted sum of measured voltage v, measured current i, and derivatives of the measured voltage v and the measured current i tends to a first setpoint for the first value;
receiving, at the second controller, a second setpoint for a conventional measure of generator output and a second measured value of the conventional measure of generator output;
modifying, with the second controller, the first setpoint to the first controller and adjusting the second measured value towards the second setpoint, wherein holding the first value constant when adjusting the second measured value emulates a desired source impedance of the generator.
