1. A system for access control, the system comprising:
a sensor configured to wirelessly scan an access card;
a camera;
an actuator controlling a locking mechanism; and
an authentication platform communicatively in communication with the sensor and the actuator, the authentication platform comprising:
at least one processor; and
memory storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the authentication platform to:
receive, from the camera, first usage patterns of the access card, wherein the first usage patterns correspond to historical use of the access card, and wherein the first usage patterns comprise first motion patterns of the access card, as captured by the camera, while the access card is being wirelessly scanned by the sensor;
perform cluster analysis on the first usage patterns to determine groups of normal usage patterns;
receive, from the camera, a second usage pattern of the access card, wherein the second usage pattern comprises a second motion pattern of the access card, as captured by the camera, while the access card is being wirelessly scanned by the sensor for generating an access request;
determine, based on the groups of normal usage patterns and the second usage pattern, that the second motion pattern of the access card is non-anomalous; and
based on the determining that the second motion pattern of the access card is non-anomalous, send an indication to activate the actuator, wherein the indication to activate the actuator causes the locking mechanism to release.
