1. A method for augmented reality object interaction comprising:
identifying a physical object within an area proximate to a user and properties associated with the physical object;
transmitting, to a remote electronic device, object information associated with the physical object;
receiving, from the remote electronic device, information including a virtual object representing a remote user;
displaying the virtual object within the area without overlapping the physical object;
receiving information for a movement of the remote user for the virtual object;
determining that the movement of the remote user causes the virtual object to be within a threshold distance from the physical object; and
in response to determining that the movement of the remote user causes the virtual object to be within the threshold distance from the physical object, modifying the virtual object to interact with the physical object based on the properties of the physical object;
wherein modifying the virtual object to interact with the physical object comprises adjusting a pose of the virtual object and a position of the virtual object based on the properties of the physical object.
