1. A pipe service system comprising:
a valve (10) adapted for use with an access fitting of a pipe; and
a pipe service machine (30T, 30P, or 30C) adapted for use with the valve;
the pipe service system further comprising:
a channel (40) having at least one change in elevation and being non-threaded, and
a follower (20) adapted for engagement with the channel;
the channel located on only one of the valve or the pipe service machine;
the follower located on only another one of the valve or the pipe service machine.
