1. A solid multi-use detergent composition comprising:
an alkali metal carbonate alkalinity source;
an enzyme;
a nitrogen-containing stabilizing agent that is a combination of casein and gelatin; and
water;
wherein said detergent is substantially free of phosphorus and/or nitrilotriacetic acid;
and
wherein a detergent use solution of the composition has a pH of at least about 9 and maintains cleaning performance at temperatures of at least about 65° C. in use solution for at least about 20 minutes, and wherein the stabilizing agent results in at least about 40% enzymatic activity for said period of time.
