1. A method for preparing a super absorbent polymer comprising:
providing super absorbent polymer particles comprising a base polymer powder including a cross-linked polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer having an acidic group of which at least a part is neutralized, and a surface cross-linked layer in which the cross-linked polymer is further cross-linked and which is formed on the base polymer powder,
mixing the super absorbent polymer particles with water and an additive including a carboxylic acid compound which is a carboxylic acid of an aliphatic hydrocarbon having 10 to 30 carbon atoms to form a hydrated super absorbent polymer.
