1. A device for magnetic separation comprising:
(a) a housing comprising a microfluidic flow path comprising an inlet and an outlet, wherein the flow path comprises a plurality of channels disposed laterally in the flow path and connected laterally in fluid communication with each other, wherein a height of the plurality of channels is greater than a height of the lateral connection; and
(b) a first magnetic source disposed adjacent to the flow path.
