1. An apparatus for reducing glare comprising:
a grid, wherein said grid comprises a plurality of at least 12 pixel-type grid elements and wherein each grid element is independently capable of filtering incident light by a plurality of polarization angles, wherein said angles comprise 0, 45, 90 and 135 degrees;
an image capture device, wherein said capture device is configured for simultaneously capturing polarization-variant image data of a field of view, wherein said polarization variants comprise said angles; and
a processor, wherein said processor is configured for processing said image data and for determining a target polarization filter angle for each of said grid elements, wherein said determining comprises measuring a luminance of transmitted light for a filter of each of said polarization angles and by selecting such an angle which is associated with least luminance.
