1. A head-mounted physiological signal monitoring and feedback system comprising:
a headgear apparatus comprising a hat, helmet, earpiece or eyeglasses to fit snugly to, and place light pressure on, a head of a subject, or in or near to at least one ear of the subject;
at least one dry electrophysiological electrode of a plurality of dry electrophysiological electrodes and at least one electrophysiological sensor of a plurality of electrophysiological sensors, each of the at least one dry electrophysiological electrode and each of the at least one electrophysiological sensor to acquire at least one electrophysiological signal of a plurality of electrophysiological signals selected from a group consisting of electromyogram (EMG) signals, electrooculogram (EOG) signals, electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, and electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, the at least one dry electrophysiological electrode attached to or integrated into the headgear apparatus and comprising a lower surface to contact a skin of the subject, and a plurality of low aspect ratio protruding surface features on the lower surface;
at least one electronic processor to obtain and process the plurality of electrophysiological signals and to output at least one actuation signal based at least in part on the plurality of electrophysiological signals;
at least one actuator adapted to receive the least one actuation signal from the least one electronic processor and to provide a signal or feedback to the subject; and
a head-mounted display (HMD) or heads-up display (HUD) to provide a display of generated images overlain on a vision of the subject of a real world.
