1. An assembly for a minimally invasive surgical apparatus, the assembly comprising:
a rotation adapter extending from a proximal end to a distal end, the rotation adapter comprising:
a bore extending between the distal end of the rotation adapter and the proximal end of the rotation adapter along a bore axis;
an actuator input disposed adjacent to the proximal end of the rotation adapter; and
an effector output disposed adjacent to the distal end of the rotation adapter;
a barrel extending from a proximal end to a distal end along the bore axis, the distal end of the barrel being disposed within the bore axis and the barrel being displaceable along the bore axis, the barrel having at least one cam path that extends along the barrel, wherein an end portion of a cam is received into a portion of the at least one cam path such that as the barrel displaces along the bore axis, the end portion of the cam engages the portion of the at least one cam path to rotate the barrel about the bore axis; and
a needle extending along the bore axis and fixedly coupled to the barrel, wherein a distal end portion of the needle is configured to extend through a tissue bite area of a suturing tip of the minimally invasive surgical apparatus when the barrel is displaced along the bore axis.
