1. A method implemented by a user equipment (UE) in a serving cell of a wireless communication network, the method comprising:
receiving first configuration information via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling from a base station or network node for configuring downlink control channel monitoring by the UE;
monitoring the downlink control channel in accordance with the first configuration information; and
receiving downlink control information from the base station via layer1 signaling, wherein the downlink control information is associated with a dedicated, power-saving Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) configured via RRC signaling;
wherein the power-saving RNTI comprises a group RNTI targeting a group of UEs and wherein the downlink control information further includes a bitmap indicating which UEs in the group UEs should adapt the downlink control channel monitoring based on the downlink control information; and
adapting the downlink control channel monitoring responsive to the downlink control information.
