1. A server, comprising:
at least one network interface configured to communicate with a core network and a plurality of remote units;
at least one processor; and
a non-transitory computer readable memory encoded with instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to implement a process comprising:
performing baseband processing, using a first band-specific cell processor, on a communication received, via the at least one network interface, from the core network, and routed to the plurality of remote units over a first shared spectrum access channel;
receiving, via the at least one network interface, a message revoking a grant to the first shared spectrum access channel;
transmitting, via the at least one network interface, a request for a grant to use a second shared spectrum access channel;
receiving, via the at least one network interface, a message granting access to the second shared spectrum access channel;
unlocking a second band-specific cell processor corresponding to the second shared spectrum access channel;
reconfiguring, via the at least one network interface, the plurality of remote units to cease transmitting and receiving on a first radio frequency band corresponding to the first shared spectrum access channel and to begin transmitting and receiving on a second radio frequency band corresponding to the second shared spectrum access channel; and
locking the first band-specific cell processor.
