1. A compute device comprising:
primary communication circuitry configured to communicate through a network with an industrial device of an industrial process plant, wherein the primary communication circuitry is configured to receive configuration data from a master controller compute device, the configuration data indicative of a configuration for one or more operations of the industrial device through the network;
side channel communication circuitry configured to communicate with the industrial device through a secure wireless side channel that is different from the network; and
circuitry configured to:
determine the network is unavailable;
enable, in response to the determination that the network is unavailable, the secure wireless side channel;
obtain, via the secure wireless side channel, the configuration data from a configuration compute device; and
configure, in response to obtaining the configuration data, the one or more operations of the industrial device.
