1. An audio system for reproducing multichannel audio, comprising at least one subwoofer and an audio processor for reproducing object-specific audio or multichannel audio, comprising:
a normal layer processor configured for processing one or more channels of the object-specific audio or of the multichannel audio belonging to a normal layer;
a lower layer processor configured for processing at least one or more channels of the object-specific audio or of the multichannel audio belonging to a lower layer,
wherein the normal layer is a listening layer laying within a height of a listener's head as seen from a listener's perspective and wherein the normal layer lies above the lower layer as seen from the listener's perspective;
further comprising a low frequency effect/bass processor which is configured to feed low frequency portions of the normal layer to the subwoofer via the subwoofer output, wherein the low frequency portions of the normal layer comprise frequencies below 1000 Hz;
wherein the lower layer processor is configured to feed at least one high frequency signal of the lower layer to the same subwoofer via the same subwoofer output, so as to reproduce said one or more channels of the lower layer using the same subwoofer, wherein frequencies of the high frequency signal of the lower layer are above 1000 Hz so as to be high enough to enable a localization of the sound generated by the same subwoofer.
