1. An image pickup apparatus equipped with a plurality of lenses with different angles of view including at least (a) a first lens having a zooming function that varies a magnification of the first lens between a wide-angle end and a telephoto end and (b) a second lens, the image pickup apparatus comprising:
at least one memory that stores a set of instructions; and
at least one processor that executes the instructions, the instructions, when being executed, causing the image pickup apparatus to:
(1) display a first image that is shot through the first lens;
(2) detect a subject from the first image;
(3) determine whether or not there is cut-off on a person in the subject detected in the first image;
(4) in response to a predetermined user operation, switch between (a) display of the first image that is shot through the first lens and (b) display of a second image that is shot through the second lens and that has a wider angle of view than the first image; and
(5) when it is determined that there is cut-off on the person, (a) automatically switch from the display of the first image to the display of the second image without the predetermined user operation, in a case where the first lens is in a predetermined zooming state, and (b) automatically perform zooming using the zooming function of the first lens by varying the magnification of the first lens to be closer to the wide-angle end without a user operation for zooming and display a third image that is shot using the varied magnification of the first lens, in a case where the first lens is not in the predetermined zooming state.
