1. An apparatus for video decoding, the apparatus comprising:
at least one memory; and
at least one processor, the at least one processor configured to:
retrieve, from a stored grain array, noise pixel data associated with at least one reconstructed video pixel, wherein the noise pixel data includes at least a first block of noise pixel data and a second block of noise pixel data, wherein the first block of noise pixel data and the second block of noise pixel data both have a first size, and wherein the first size is based on a second size of a block of reconstructed video data that includes the at least one reconstructed video pixel;
blend a first line of noise pixels from the first block of noise pixel data and a second line of noise pixels from the second block of noise pixel data to generate blended noise data; and
apply the blended noise data to the at least one reconstructed video pixel to generate at least one output video pixel.
