1. A method comprising:
receiving, by a computing device, a first plurality of frames associated with a portion of a content item;
determining, based on an indication of a network condition, a quantization parameter and an adjustment parameter associated with a previously-encoded reference frame, wherein the previously-encoded reference frame is associated with a second plurality of frames of the content item, and wherein the second plurality of frames is associated with a resolution that differs from a resolution associated with the first plurality of frames; and
encoding, based on the quantization parameter and the adjustment parameter, at least one frame of the first plurality of frames, wherein the at least one frame, once encoded, comprises the resolution associated with the second plurality of frames.
