an access point client having a DHCP client;
a processor in communication with the access point client, the processor being programmed using programming commands to:
analyze incoming traffic from an external device,
determine if a port address received by the access point client is a port address associated with the network device, and
if the received port address is the port address of the network device, directing content of a packet to a stack stored in a memory of the network device; and
wherein a local internet protocol (IP) address of the packet transmitted from the external device is replaced with an IP address of the access point client, and
wherein the access point client directly shares its IP address with the external device.
