1. A method, comprising:
receiving, by a processor, an input from an aircraft avionics system of an aircraft, wherein the input includes a parking brake sensor input, a torque link sensor input, and a nose wheel steering sensor input;
determining, by the processor, a towing status of the aircraft based on the input;
sending, by the processor, a message to a transmitter to transmit the towing status of the aircraft;
receiving, by a second processor, the towing status of the aircraft;
controlling, by the second processor, an operational status of a tow truck;
allowing, by the second processor, the tow truck to operate in response to receiving a status indicating the aircraft is ready to be towed; and
preventing, by the second processor, the tow truck from operating in response to receiving a status indicating the aircraft is not ready to be towed.
