1. A computer-implemented method for accessing an issue tracking platform during a messaging session of a messaging platform, the method comprising:
causing display of a messaging interface of the messaging platform on a first client device, the messaging interface including the messaging session between the first client device and one or more second client devices;
causing a message entered at a text input region of the messaging interface at the first client device to be provided to the messaging session for display on the one or more second client devices;
in response to a first user input to the messaging interface, causing display of a set of character icons;
in response to a user selection of a first character icon of the set of character icons, inserting a respective character into the text input region, the respective character corresponding to the selected first character icon;
in response to a selection of a second character icon of the set of character icons, causing display of an issue creation interface;
extracting data from the messaging session;
inserting at least a portion of the extracted data into an issue creation form of the issue creation interface; and
in response to a second user input, causing a new issue to be created in the issue-tracking platform using the extracted data.
