1. A health monitor for an electric machine, the health monitor comprising:
a memory device; and
a processor in communication with the memory device, wherein the processor is configured to control alternating between:
first periods of supplying power for the health monitor by a transformer; and
at a sampling frequency of at least a frequency of an AC signal conducted by a stator winding of the transformer for the electric machine, second periods of receiving stator current measurements of a stator current conducted through the stator winding before reverting back to supplying power for the health monitor and subsequently switching to cause a next stator current measurement to be collected.
