1. A method, comprising:
monitoring an electric turbocharger (e-turbo) parameter or an engine parameter associated with an e-turbo, while a motor of the e-turbo operates at a commanded speed, wherein the monitored e-turbo parameter or the engine parameter comprises a compressor outlet pressure monitored at an outlet of a compressor of the e-turbo while the motor is operated at the commanded speed;
comparing the monitored e-turbo parameter or the engine parameter to a determined threshold value for the e-turbo parameter or the engine parameter; and
signaling a status of the e-turbo in response to the monitored e-turbo parameter or the engine parameter differing from the determined threshold value by at least a threshold amount.
