1. An acrylic polyester resin, obtained by grafting an acrylic polymer with a polyester material, the polyester material obtained by polymerizing:
i) a polyacid component, with
ii) a polyol component,
wherein the polyacid component and/or the polyol component comprises a Tg enhancing monomer comprising at least one of:
2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid (NDCA);
tricyclodecane dimethanol (TCDM);
cyclohexane dimethanol (CHDM);
a furan group-containing dicarboxylic acid;
nadic acid;
nadic anhydride;
nadic methyl anhydride;
isosorbide; and
combinations of the foregoing; and
wherein the at least one Tg enhancing monomer is present in a total amount of at least 10 mole % based on total moles of the polyacid component and the polyol component;
wherein one of the polyacid component or the polyol component comprises a functional monomer operable to impart functionality on to the polyester resin, such that the acrylic polymer is grafted with the polyester material via the use of said functionality, and wherein the acrylic polyester resin has a Tg of at least 40° C.
