1. A compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,

X3, X4, and X5 are, independently each other, —CH═ or —N═, with the proviso that X3, X4, and X5 cannot be —CH═ at the same time,
R1 is -A or -A-(R1A)m,
A is 5-membered heteroaryl, 4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridinyl, or 6,7-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazolyl,
R1A is independently selected from the group consisting of:
OH;
halogen;
cyano;
C1-6alkyl optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of OH, halogen, C1-3 alkoxy, C3-6 cycloalkyl, —NHC1-6 alkyl, —N(C1-6 alkyl)2, and 4-7 membered heterocyclyl optionally or independently substituted by one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of OH, halogen, and C1-6 alkyl;
C3-6 cycloalkyl;

R2 is —XC1-6alkyl optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of OH, halogen, and —N(C1-6alkyl)2; —X(CH2)n-B; or -X(CH2)n-B-(R2A)o,
X is —NH—, —O—, bond or —C≡C—,
n is an integer of 0 to 3,
o is an integer of 1 to 3,
B is selected from the group consisting of C3-8 cycloalkyl; C6-10 aryl; 4-11 membered heterocyclyl; and 5-6 membered heteroaryl,
R2A is independently selected from the group consisting of:

halogen;
