1. A head chip having a width in an X direction, a depth in a Y direction and an elevation in a Z direction, wherein the X, Y and Z directions are perpendicular to each other, the head chip comprising:
a flow channel member formed with a plurality of pressure chambers arranged in the X direction and each extending in the Y direction;
an actuator plate formed over an upper surface of the flow channel member in the Z direction, wherein the actuator plate is formed with a pair of actuator plate through-holes going through the actuator plate in the Z direction, and each of the actuator plate through-holes is located directly above between two adjacent pressure chambers;
a pair of first and second drive electrodes formed for each of the pressure chambers on an upper surface and a lower surface of the actuator plate, wherein the pair of first and second drive electrodes, when energized and deenergized, deform the actuator plate in the Z direction to expand and contract a corresponding pressure chamber;
a cover plate formed over the upper surface of the actuator plate in the Z direction, wherein the cover plate is formed with a pair of cover plate through-holes going through the cover plate in the Z direction and aligned in the Z direction, respectively, with the pair of actuator plate through-holes so that two sets of the aligned actuator plate through-holes and cover plate through-holes form a pair of first and second through-holes going through the actuator plate and the cover plate in the Z direction; and
a pair of first and second electrically separate pads formed on an upper surface of the cover plate and electrically connected, respectively, to the pair of first and second drive electrodes through first and second interconnect wirings that run inside the pair of first and second through-holes, respectively, between the pair of first and second drive electrode and the pair of first and second pads, wherein the pair of first and second pads are located directly above each of the pressure chamber in the Z direction.
