1. A toy assembly, comprising:
a housing;
an inner object inside the housing, wherein the inner object includes a breakout member that is operable to break the housing to expose the inner object, wherein the inner object includes a drive wheel and a drive tooth;
a bushing platform that releasably holds the inner object and which is rotatably mounted to the housing;
a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the inner object in the housing, wherein the rotation mechanism includes a stationary gear that is fixedly mounted to the housing; and
a motor in the inner object that is operatively connected to the drive wheel and to the drive tooth such that operation of the motor drives rotation of the drive wheel and the drive tooth, wherein the drive tooth is positioned to engage the stationary gear periodically during rotation of the drive tooth in order to rotationally index the inner object and the breakout member by a selected amount, for subsequent actuation of the breakout member so as to open the housing.
