1. A method performed by an electronic device of providing biometric information based on a biometric signal, the method comprising:
obtaining demographic information of a user wearing the electronic device, the demographic information that includes including at least one of a gender, an age, or a race of the user;
obtaining, via an acceleration sensor of the electronic device, a motion signal corresponding to a movement of the electronic device;
obtaining, via a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor of the electronic device, a first heart rate value and a first heart rate variation value during the motion signal is less than a threshold value;
updating a heart rate reference value based at least on the first heart rate value;
updating a heart rate variation reference value based at least on the first heart rate variation value; and
obtaining, via the PPG sensor, a second heart rate value and a second heart rate variation value,
wherein the obtained second heart rate value and second heart rate variation value are used to be compared with the updated heart rate reference value and the updated heart rate variation reference value respectively for determining biometric information of a user wearing the electronic device, and
wherein the biometric information is provided based on the demographic information of the user.
